Obliquity Induced Latitudinal Migration of the Intertropical Convergence Zone During the Past ∼410 kyr

Obliquity influences the latitudinal position of Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ). However, specific forcing mechanism remains unclear due to scarcity long-term and high-resolution precipitation records from Indo-Pacific region. Here, we present a new, extended, (∼2 kyr) record covering past ∼410 kyr marine sedimentary sequence collected at southern margin ITCZ's displacement within By integrating this new with published northern displacement, found that in Northern Southern Hemispheres varied anti-phase on obliquity band, indicating migration ITCZ was dominated by obliquity. The migrations could be imparted variations North Atlantic sea ice cover, resulting Agulhas leakage induced changes ventilation strength meridional overturning circulation.
